Bamboo Fabric
Bamboo Fabric
Fact Sheet
YAHOO FOR BAMBOO...

WHY BAMBOO?
- It feels like silk on you skin, so light and soft it almost disappears
- It's a delicate fibre that is highly durable
- It breathes better than cotton, so is wonderful in the hot humid climates
- It's hollow firbre enables the fine thread to absorb moisture into the fibre and dry away from the skin
- It has natural antibacterial properties, unlike other products where the bacteria continues to grow, bamboo reduces its element to almost zero
- It reduces odours and chaffing
- It's also antistatic, so no more clinging to you undergaments
- Natural UV protection
- Thermo-regulating to keep you cool or warm
- It's grown on marginal land, therefore not restricting the growth areas for the much needed crops and natural forest
- It's grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides and requires minimal water
- It's a renewabe resource, growing as much as 3 feet in one day
Innovative and Environmentally Friendly
Bamboo is considered nature's renewable resource. As one of the fastest growing plants on Earth, you can almost "see it grow"
Bamboo Cotton products are extremely soft, comfortable and cool. There velvet slip texture characteristic compliments the natural fibres' antibiotic, antibacterial protection
The advantage of Bamboo's durability, elastic resilience and moisture absorption provides and outstanding naturally friendly fabric..
BAMBOO.. The choice is simple
Bamboo is starting to make its mark on the clothing industry. It's grass that self-renews super quickly, and it doesn't require the use of harsh chemicals or fertilisers to grow. The fabric is incredibly soft and wicks away moisture and is antibacterial. You couldn't ask for more...
WHY NOT BAMBOO - IT MAY NOT BE PERFECT BUT WE BELIEVE IT'S THE BEST ON OFFER...
Bamboo fibre is filled with various micro-spaces and micro-holes, which gives it a moisture rate that is 3 to 4 times higher than cotton! Products made with bamboo have an ultra soft feel with a high abrasion proof capacity. The fibres are anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-static.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Body odour results from gases produced by bacteria which live on the waste which is exuded from our bodies - sweat and dead skin cells which our bodies give off constantly as a perfectly natural part of living. When a bamboo fibre fabric is worn against the skin: Any moisture (sweat) is immediately absorbed and taken away from the skin
The powerful natural anti-bacterial property of the bamboo constantly keeps bacteria populations in check
ANTI-BACTERIAL TESTING
Found that in bamboo fabric, bacteria numbers were reduced to less than 0.2% whereas in cotton fabric, bacteria numbers increased to 550 times the original. The reason for this scientist found was a unique anti-bacterial agent called 'bamboo kun'. This substance combined with the tight molecular structure of bamboo fibres, gives it its anti-bacterial and bacteriostatic properties, which did not diminish even after as many as 50 washes.
ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSIDERATE
Bamboo is a growth industry and with this comes the temptation to clear natural forests and crop lands a practice which forced the Chinese Government to reform its forestry policy in the late 1990s. Forest clearing for bamboo has been minimal since this, with studies showing cultivation patterns using satellite imagery, the growth of bamboo being restricted to slopes and abandoned agricultural lands. Although 1,400 bamboo species grow worldwide, most products are made with moso bamboo, which can shoot up three feet a day under ideal conditions, making it a very sustainable product.
